MareaSkaven: Age of Sigmar (4th Edition).

The tolling of bronze bells heralds the explosive arrival of the Verminous Horde. Plague City has burst into the Realm of Fire, and the Hour of Ruin has fallen upon us. The new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar is almost here, and it comes with a huge launch box: Mareaskaven.

The Mareaskaven sweeps through the Mortal Realms, and the faithful Knights of the Stormcast Eternals are the first to enter the fray. This gigantic Warhammer Age of Sigmar box is the biggest launch set to date, packed to the brim with books and miniatures.

The box is divided into two factions totaling 1200 points. There are 24 Stormcast Eternals, reforged warriors and battle-hardened veterans of a thousand conflicts, and 50 Skaven, a swarm of vermin fighting in enormous numbers with malignant magic and outlandish technology.

Stormcast Eternals

Created by Sigmar himself to reclaim the Mortal Realms from the forces of Chaos, each Stormcast Eternal is a heroic soul stolen from the God of Death and reforged on the Anvil of Apotheosis to create an immortal warrior. Sigmar lied in claiming that this immortality would have no consequences; it is as much a curse as a blessing, for each new death and Reforging removes more flaws but also slightly reduces their soul. However, the Skaven threat is so extreme that Sigmar has been forced to open the Chamber of Doom and once again call upon those warriors who are on the brink of being completely lost. All are willing to fight, for it is a desperate situation.

Skaven

The Skaven are treacherous ratmen innately prepared to backstab even their closest ally if it means gaining a step towards power. However, following a bold series of cunning rituals, the Skaven have managed to introduce the eerie sub-dimension of Plague City into the Mortal Realms, and now emerge in unprecedented numbers as the Great Horned Rat takes its rightful place in the pantheon of Chaos.

What else does the MareaSkaven box include?

These forces are the core of two fantastic armies, and both included factions can be organized as Vanguard forces: the Vigilant Brotherhood and the Verminous Horde.

The box contains all the terrain, card decks, and double-sided boards you need to play tense and thrilling Vanguard games. It also includes the 144-page hardcover book Vanguard: Fire and Jade, which contains the rules for 25 different Vanguard boxes, the Vanguard battle pack, and the Core Rules, all in one pack. The terrain sprue even comes with 3” and 6” measuring sticks; all you need to start playing is a handful of six-sided dice!

In addition to all this, the box also contains the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Core Book, a magnificent 272-page tome packed with lore about the Mortal Realms and their inhabitants, tons of beautiful artwork, and evocative photos of miniatures painted by the 'Eavy Metal team. It includes the core rules, the matched play battle packs (First Blood) and Path to Glory (Ascension), a rules glossary, a Citadel terrain list, and copiable army sheets for Path to Glory.
