Assembly plastic kit of a Land Rover 88, "Station Wagon".
The Land Rover Series IIA is the improved variant of the second generation of this famous British off-road vehicle. Available with short wheelbase (88 inches) and long wheelbase (109 inches), this model was manufactured between 1961 and 1971 and is considered the most classic and resilient Land Rover model. It became incredibly popular not only in the domestic market and other Commonwealth countries, but also in the Middle East and Africa.
This kit represents a civilian-spec Station Wagon 88, built in the mid-1960s and still in use in many countries. It showcases typical Station Wagon features such as a simple front bumper, angled rear crossmember, horizontally mounted sidelights and indicators, side-mounted petrol filler cap, tropical roof with ventilation hoods, spare wheel mounted inside, bench-type rear seats, sliding rear windows, and more.
A good number of these vehicles were also used by the military in various forms, so we have included details such as the front-mounted spare wheel seen on Jordanian vehicles or when they were captured by the IDF, as well as decals to create these military models. There were numerous optional parts, equipment, and details added or changed by their owners for specific jobs or uses, greatly altering their final appearance, so be sure to check your references when modeling a particular vehicle.
