Assembly plastic kit of a Land Rover 88, "Rover 8".
The Land Rover Series IIA is the improved variant of the second generation of this famous British off-road vehicle. Available with short wheelbase (88 inches) and long wheelbase (109 inches), this model was manufactured between 1961 and 1971 and is considered the most classic and resilient Land Rover model. It became incredibly popular not only in the domestic market and other Commonwealth countries, but also in the Middle East and Africa.
This kit represents a mid-1960s military-spec 88 Rover 8 still in use in many countries. It displays typical Rover 8 features, such as the military front bumper, straight rear crossmember, D-ring bumpers, vertically mounted side and indicator lights, IR-type headlights, extra fuel tank, rear and front optional towing pintle, Warner and NATO-type trailer connectors, series license plate lamp, and shovel and pick on the rear...
Although many 88s had split-rim combat type wheels, we also offer the original civilian type wheel used, as it will help you for making more versions. Many other official details changed due to the final use or theater of operations, contract changes, different batches, etc. Check your references when modeling a particular vehicle. Many additional ad-hoc equipment and accessories could be seen, made both at depot and unit level, further changing their final appearance.
